SAC Membership Rates (as of Jan 2006)
Full
Diving Membership: £144 per year
This figure
is a combination of £43 which pays for annual membership of the national BSAC
organisation and £101 which goes towards the running of the local club.
Most of this latter amount goes towards the Hatfield Pool rental with
the small amount remaining being used primarily for maintenance of club equipment.
Abated
Diving Membership: £79 per year
If you
live at the same address as a full member then you can join as an abated member.
This amount is made up of £28 for abated BSAC membership and £51 for
local club membership.
Membership
is open to those over 18, although you can join as young as 14 if you are
diving with a parent or another family member who is also a BSAC member and
over 18.
Membership
is also conditional on completion of the UKSDMC Self Declaration Medical Form,

Benefits of Trident SAC Membership
In addition
to the BSAC benefits described above, membership of our local branch gives
you:
- Access
to our nationally qualified diving instructors for standard diver training
at no additional charge (subject to availability). There is an additional
cost for training materials and documentation which is described below.
- Access
to the Hatfield Swim Centre every Tuesday (21:00-22:00)
for recreational use even when not dive training
- Free
use of the club’s equipment during training (except for cost of air fills)
- Ability
to hire club equipment (when available) after diver qualification at very
reasonable rates
- Access
to dive trips and holidays organised by branch members
- The
ability to join in the branch’s social events. We meet for a drink and discussion after
every weekly training session, in addition social events are organised by

Training
Materials
Each new
member will require training materials. For a full member, the cost of the material
that covers your first BSAC training grade (usually ‘Ocean Diver’) is £30
and contains:

of Student Notes for Ocean Diver
grade
- The
Diving Manual
For experienced
divers who are joining the club, including those trained by other organisations
such as PADI, there are a variety of alternative training packs, one of which
will be appropriate for your level of skill and experience.
The training
pack for abated members costs £20 and is the same as the full members pack
with the exception of ‘The Diving Manual’.
For subsequent
diving grades, the appropriate set of Student Notes will need to purchased
at a cost of £8 each.
